Music
Introduction
Here’s an overview of my musical involvement, which includes participating in my high school’s Wind Ensemble, Chamber Winds group, Holiday Brass group, and Pep Band. Music is an incredible way to express yourself and the ideas you cherish. I’ve been immersed in music for as long as I can remember. I started playing piano at the age of 5, though I eventually set it aside in 6th grade to pursue other interests. I’ve been playing the tuba for 9 years, and in my free time, I’ve taught myself to play the trumpet, guitar, and bass guitar. Music is an essential part of my life, and I can’t imagine living without it.

Wind Ensemble
The Monroe-Woodbury High School Wind Ensemble is composed of the school’s top band instrumentalists. The Monroe-Woodbury Music Program is exceptionally strong, having been recognized as one of the “Best Communities for Music Education” by The NAMM Foundation for the 12th consecutive year as of April 26th, 2023.
The Wind Ensemble itself has achieved remarkable success, earning the Gold with Distinction award for over three consecutive years from the New York State School Music Association during the Major Organization Evaluation Festival. In April 2023, the ensemble participated in the WorldStrides Heritage Music Festival in Philadelphia, where they received a Superior Gold Rating, the top score in their class, the highest overall score in the band genre, and were the highest-rated ensemble across all instrumental and vocal groups. I am extremely fortunate and proud to have served as the Wind Ensemble's principal tuba player for 2 consecutive years.
Chamber Winds and Holiday Brass
Throughout my high school years, I have been an active member of the Chamber Winds and Holiday Brass groups. These ensembles have provided me with unique opportunities to perform in various settings and showcase my musical talents.
The Chamber Winds group focuses on performing intricate and sophisticated pieces, allowing me to refine my skills and collaborate closely with other talented musicians. Meanwhile, the Holiday Brass group brings festive cheer to our community through performances during the holiday season, spreading joy and celebrating the spirit of the season.
Both groups have been instrumental in my musical development, offering me the chance to grow as a musician and contribute to the vibrant musical culture at Monroe-Woodbury High School.
